White Fillings
When a filling is required in your back teeth, due either to decay or the need to replace an old restoration, you may be worried that it will be noticeable. Traditional silver amalgam fillings do not blend in with your natural tooth colour and so may be easily seen.
At Ian Robertson Dental Care, we offer a range of alternatives to silver amalgam fillings. These alternatives range from resin fillings that are directly placed onto your teeth by your dentist, to laboratory constructed porcelain restorations.
These tooth-coloured fillings provide a more natural look to your teeth losing none of the benefits a silver amalgam brings.
White fillings could be perfect for you.
White fillings are a cosmetic treatment and are available at both of our practices.

White Crowns
White, or all-ceramic crowns can replace the more traditional metal-based porcelain crowns for front teeth or all-metal crowns on your back teeth.
If a tooth has a very large filling or is badly broken down, it may be possible to place an all-ceramic crown to improve the function and appearance of the tooth. All-ceramic crowns are made by our laboratory to the same colour as your natural teeth so that they blend in to your mouth, giving an aesthetic result.
At Ian Robertson Dental Care, we offer a range of alternatives to the more traditional crowns, al aimed at improving the aesthetics of your teeth.
White, all-ceramic crowns could be perfect for you.
All-ceramic crowns are a cosmetic treatment and are available at both of our practices.

White Bridges
White or all-ceramic bridges can be used to replace the more traditional metal-based porcelain bridges.
As an all-ceramic bridge contains no metal, the appearance and life-like qualities of the material is much improved. As with all-ceramic crowns, a bridge made without a metal sub-structure gives a very aesthetic result.
At Ian Robertson Dental Care, we offer a range of alternatives to traditional metal-based porcelain bridges, all aimed at improving your smile.
White, all-ceramic bridges could be perfect for you.
All-ceramic bridges are a cosmetic treatment and are available at both of our practices.

Porcelain Veneers
A porcelain veneer is a very thin layer of porcelain, constructed by our laboratory, to fit your tooth precisely. A veneer is best used to alter the shape, size or position of a tooth.
As a veneer is very thin, a maximum of 1.5mm, they are not suited to altering the shade of a tooth alone. If used to alter the shade, in conjunction with the other criteria, it is best to undertake a course of tooth whitening prior to preparing the tooth for a veneer.
Veneers are not reversible. The outer enamel surface of the tooth must be altered to create a fresh surface for the veneer to be bonded to.
Porcelain Veneers could be perfect for you.
Veneers are a cosmetic treatment and are available at both of our practices.
