Childsmile is a national program designed to improve the oral health of children in Scotland.
At Ian Robertson Dental Care we are committed to promoting good oral health and forming good habits in children from a young age.
We recommend that you register your child with the practice as soon as possible after birth so that we can give you advice about how to look after your child's teeth.
Visits to the dentist from an early age also help children to get used to the sights, sounds and smells of a dental practice.
As part of Childsmile we will give oral health advice, toothbrushing instruction and advice about your child's diet.
We will also apply fluoride varnish to your child's teeth every six months.
Research has shown that fluoride varnish is extremely effective at preventing dental decay, meaning fewer, or as in most cases, no fillings in the future.
